Head of Inclusive Education & Behavioural TherapyMrs. Shamane Basnayake is a trained Behavioural Therapist with over 15 years of experience in early childhood development and special needs education. She holds a Higher National Diploma in Early Childhood Education, a Diploma in Special Needs Education from the University of Karo, and is certified in the AMI Montessori curriculum. Her extensive training also includes a comprehensive teacher training course focused on inclusive classroom practices.
Shamane has served in various capacities across reputed institutions, including Guiding Steps, ABC Montessori, and Busy Bees. She has also held leadership roles as Head Teacher of Special Needs at Wizkids and Steiner ICE College. In addition to implementing structured behavioural strategies, Shamane is highly skilled in identifying and nurturing hidden talents in children—such as music, art, cookery, and other life skills—helping each child unlock their unique potential and build confidence through meaningful engagement.
