Occupational Therapist & Psychologist – Specialist in Child Development and Mental Health
Ms. Shamrin Shyron is an Occupational Therapist and Psychologist with a strong academic and clinical background in psychology and therapeutic interventions. She holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Psychology from Coventry University, UK, a Higher National Diploma in Psychology from the Colombo Institute of Psychology and Research (CIRP), and is currently reading for a Master of Science in Clinical and Health Psychology at the University of West London. She has also completed advanced training in Early Childhood Development through Harvard University.
Shamrin has gained extensive experience in therapy and special education through her work at At My Pace Special Education School, where she provided motor and sensory stimulation therapy, group sessions to enhance communication and social skills, and individualized educational support. Her clinical exposure includes placements and training at the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) and Oberon Health Clinic, where she developed skills in counseling, CBT, case work, and patient care under supervision.
She has also trained at Chithra Lane Special Education School, gaining multidisciplinary exposure in speech therapy, physiotherapy, and creative arts therapies, alongside hands-on special education training. With her combined expertise in psychology and occupational therapy, Shamrin is dedicated to supporting children and individuals with special needs by enhancing their functional independence, mental well-being, and overall quality of life.
